Rams 38, Vikings 31

The Los Angeles Rams snuck away with their fourth win in a row, keeping them as the only undefeated team left in the NFL. The game was an offensive shootout back and forth, but a late strip-sack sealed the game for the Rams. Rams quarterback Jared Goff had a monstrous day, ending the game with a perfect 158.3 passer rating and throwing for 465 yards and five touchdowns. Additionally, Rams running back Todd Gurley contributed 156 scrimmage yards and a receiving touchdown.

Bears 48, Buccaneers 10

The Chicago Bears collected their third win of the season as they destroyed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home. Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky lit the passing game for the Bears on fire with 354 passing yards and six touchdowns; additionally, running back Tarik Cohen contributed 174 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. The Bears clicked on all cylinders in the first half, scoring 38 of their points in just the first two quarters and the lead was too much for the Bucs to recover from.

Packers 22, Bills 0

The Green Bay Packers shut out their first opponent since 2010 to win for the second time this year. The true hero for the Packers was their monstrous defense, as they forced the Bills to eight punts and three turnovers throughout the game. Packers linebacker Kyler Fackrell contributing three sacks of his own on the day to add to the team’s total of seven. The lockdown defense from the Packers along with a productive offense put together a powerful win.

Seahawks 20, Cardinals 17

The Seattle Seahawks were able to slip away with a win, handing the Cardinals their fourth loss in a row and keeping them winless for the year so far. Running back Mike Davis had a breakout game for over 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Seahawks. The game was tied 17-17 with less than two minutes left in the game and the outcome depended entirely on the miss of the Cardinals kicker from 45 yards and a game-winning FG for the Seahawks. It was truly an even game for the entirety of the matchup, but it all came down to one productive drive at the very end of the game.  

Saints 33, Giants 18

The New Orleans Saints gathered their third straight win of the season away against the Giants. The stars of the game were running back Alvin Kamara and kicker Will Lutz. Kamara produced 181 scrimmage yards and three rushing touchdowns, while Lutz tied his career high of four field goals with 100 percent accuracy on the day. The Saints held the Giants to a mere 22 yards for the rest of the first half after a touchdown. The contributions of Saints offensive players who aren’t Drew Brees and a surprising factor of a strong Saints defense helped hand the Giants their third loss of the season.

Bengals 37, Falcons 36

In an absolute thriller of a game, the Cincinnati Bengals led a 75-yard game-winning drive that ended with a touchdown throw to star receiver A.J. Green with 12 seconds left on the clock. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton threw for over 300 and three touchdowns while running back Giovani Bernard rushed for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Overall, the game came down to a well put-together drive by the Bengals at the end of the game that soaked enough clock and progressed down the field to lead the Bengals to their third win on the season.

Cowboys 26, Lions 24

 

In a game that came down to a game-winning field goal as time was expiring, the Dallas Cowboys collected an impressive home win against the Detroit Lions. The game-changing factor on the day was running back Ezekiel Elliott who contributed 240 yards from scrimmage and caught a touchdown, which gave the edge over the Lions. Defensive lineman Demarcus Lawrence from the Cowboys also had a game, gathering three sacks on the day along with seven solo tackles. A game-winning drive with massive offensive contributions from Elliott helped the Cowboys get their second win of the season.
