Jaguars 20, Titans 7

Following a heartbreak loss in a failed two-point conversion for the Jaguars, backup quarterback Gardner Minshew led the Jags to their first win of the season in a convincing home victory over the Titans. Minshew, the 2019 sixth-round draft pick backing up for Nick Foles, threw for 204 yards and two scores, with emerging receiver DJ Chark catching for 76 yards and a touchdown. As the quarterback injury wave hit the Jags this season, Gardner Minshew is firing up the Jaguars team with effective offensive drives and could give a healthy Nick Foles competition. It should be exciting what Minshew and the Jags can do next week as they take on the lowly Broncos at Denver. 

Bills 21, Bengals 17

Another road loss for the Bengals constituted their third loss in a row and moved the Bills along in a perfect record. In a respectable game, the Bills defense showed out with safety Jordan Poyer racking up 10 tackles and cornerback Tre’Davious White catching two interceptions. Furthermore, quarterback Josh Allen and running back Frank Gore combined for 319 total yards and two scores. The Bills, while surprisingly maintaining an undefeated record so far, will be put to the test where they may lose their undefeated season as they host the mighty Patriots. 

Colts 27, Falcons 24

In what surprisingly seemed to be an offensive shootout, the Colts left LucasOil Stadium with a home win against Matt Ryan and the Falcons. Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett ended the day with 310 yards and two scores, while Marlon Mack added 88 offensive yards and a touchdown. The dual threat of Brissett and Mack is starting to gain some recognition, and while the Colts remain a mediocre team, they pose a solid threat to any team and should not be underestimated in their ability to win some games this season and contend for the division. 

Chiefs 33, Ravens 28

In a high-powered matchup that could potentially preview an AFC playoff matchup, former MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs outlasted Lamar Jackson and the Ravens at home. Mahomes showed out at home with 374 yards and three touchdowns, while the Chiefs rushing added 140 yards and a touchdown. Despite the loss, the Ravens continue to look impressive and both teams should be expected to have winning seasons followed by a successful postseason. 

Texans 27, Chargers 20

Deshaun Watson led the charge on the road in an upset win over the LA Chargers with 351 passing yards and three touchdowns. The Texans continue to be a random team, having the ability to come out on top with amazing road victories or losing the simplest of home games. The defensive push by the Texans is solid; however, the true potential of the Texans will lie in their offensive consistency, which seems to be everchanging each week. 

Rams 20, Browns 13

The Jared Goff-Cooper Kupp duo were able to outlast the Baker Mayfield-OBJ duo to get a road victory on the Sunday night primetime matchup. Goff threw for 269 yards with Kupp catching for 102 yards and two scores. Although the Rams came out on top, the Browns, in what seems to be a repeated manner for them, threw the game away at the very end. Able to drive to the redzone in the final minute to punch in one last score to take the game to OT, Baker Mayfield went four and out to lose the game. It is clear that the Browns have the talent to be one of the best teams in the NFL, but incompetent playcalling and ineffective coaching by Freddie Kitchens are truly holding them back. 

Patriots 30, Jets 14

In what was a completely expected home win for the Pats, they demolished the divisional rival at home by 16 points. Despite releasing wide receiver Antonio Brown, the Pats went to work with Brady throwing for 306 yards and two scores; furthermore, Brady had a career day, as he passed Drew Brees to become second all time in passing touchdowns with 522 scores. Luke Falk, replacing a mono-infected Sam Darnold, was hounded by the Pats defense with the ability to throw only 98 yards and a pick the entire game. The Patriots continue to be one of the top dogs in the NFL and a clear contender for the AFC Championship and Super Bowl as they continue their undefeated season.
