I See
By Lea Matanovic (class of 2027)
I see the yellow busses lined up in front of the school
The hallways with rows of lockers full
I hear the music playing before my first class
Let’s listen up for today’s announcements: Cavs
“Join, sign up, participate,” the words I often hear
Opportunities are always near
The bell rings after third block
Everyone is speeding up their walk
It’s lunchtime!
People are getting ready to reserve their seats
Looking for the best spot for group meets
So many benches with different stories to tell
So many smiles right before the next bell
Finally, the last class of the day
Just have to let these ninety minutes pass away
Once it’s over, the cycle begins again
The yellow busses in front of the school remain
The rows of lockers are waving goodbye
“See you tomorrow,” I reply
