SCA President: Maren Baxley
Running unopposed, the new SCA President for the 2025-2026 school year is Maren Baxley. Baxley is currently a junior, and has been involved with SCA for all three of her years at PAHS. “I got involved in [SCA] freshman year by doing exec,” she explained, “and I just liked the way it worked.” Exec, or executive council, is an SCA council that students apply to be on, in order to assist in SCA events at Princess Anne. Baxley went on to apply to be SCA OSCAR for her sophomore year, and is now the SCA secretary for the 2024-2025 school year. “I’m a dedicated student-athlete and I’m involved in a lot of things,” she shared. Her involvement in different aspects of the PA community is, according to Baxley, something that will aid her as president, adding, “I can be the voice.”
Besides being able to bring in various aspects of the PA community, Baxley’s other ideas for PAHS, and SCA, involve transparency, community, and betterment, which are the main components of the platform she ran for office on. ”I feel like SCA is a little bubble,” she explained. “We don’t really get a lot of student involvement, and that’s kind of an issue I want to fix.” Bringing in students to SCA includes students from all over the PA community, which, according to Baxley involves bringing IB and zoned together.
Overall, Baxley shared that she wants to help SCA be the best it can. “There’s always room for improvement,” she explained, “and we’re just trying to make [SCA] as good as possible.”

SCA Vice President: Neel Singh
Neel Singh, a current IB sophomore, is the new SCA vice president. He credited his desire to be a part of SCA to wanting to become more involved in the PA community. Singh is the current class of 2027 Vice President, and was a participant in Love Run his freshman year, adding, “I really liked doing [Love Run]. It was fun.” Besides this experience, Singh also participated in Leadership Workshop during his freshman and sophomore year, which he shared was his favorite memory of his time so far at PA.
Another thing that drew him towards SCA, explained Singh, was the spirit, and the pep rallies, which Singh shared were his favorite SCA events. During his time as Vice President, he hopes to participate in pep rallies and he affirmed his extrovert personality and humor will help him succeed in the spirit aspect of being an SCA officer. Besides being an asset to pep rallies, Singh explained that it is his perseverance and ability to overcome challenges that will make him a good SCA Vice President. “I’m always up for the challenge, and trying new ideas,” he explained.
Some of Singh’s promises as Vice President include listening to the voices of PA students and making sure that ideas are heard and taken into consideration. “I’ll make sure to listen to every single class’ ideas, and take them and provide them to our president.”
SCA Secretary: Colin McCarthy
The final elected position for SCA is the position of secretary, which was won by junior Colin McCarthy, for the 2025-2026 school year. “Previous experience with homecoming, and HOCO hallways made me really want to be further involved with the organization,” he explained. “I was told by a few teachers that I should run for secretary, so I felt motivated to do it.”
As secretary, McCarthy said he believes he will make a difference in the PA community. “I feel like I could accomplish some good stuff as secretary,” he shared. McCarthy’s main ideas for improving PA, which made up his platform for secretary, include raising more money for PA, promoting increased involvement in school activities, and organizing school-sponsored events. One specific idea, he explained, is SCA sponsored restaurant nights where, “people can go to restaurants and a portion of the money will go back to PA.”
Being an SCA officer, McCarthy shared, means “trying to be a role model” and by extension, being a leader in the Princess Anne community. McCarthy said this is one of the most important things to him about the position he has been elected to.
