Disney+ is a dream come true

Disney+ is now available in case you haven’t heard. It has blown up in the month and while it experienced technical problems (like crashing on its first day and accounts being hacked) it still has instantly become a huge hit.

I was not going to get Disney+ because of the influx of corporate monoliths, but when someone offered me her password what was I gonna say, “no”?

Logging on was like traveling back in time to happier, less depressed times of my youth. I saw movies that I have not seen since sitting in my grandparents’ basement, watching them on VHS, and there are some on there that were blockbusters earlier this year. I know that I was opposed to this, but on the first weekend I had it, I watched the first Star Wars, Aladdin, Hercules, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and The Lion King. Watching them is the best stress reliever and makes me feel good nostalgia. On top of all of the classic movies, all of the shows from the golden age of Disney Channel are there as well. Wizards of Waverly Place is as good as I remember and honestly reaffirms that they are better than Victorious.

All of the Marvel movies are also available which makes me, as a die-hard Marvel fan, ecstatic, so if you’re looking for a recommendation might I suggest Captain America: The Winter Soldier. As if that wasn’t enough, all of the Star Wars movies are also available so all nerds can go wild.

And yes, I know capitalism and monopolies are taking over, but really, by using someone else’s account or getting friends to go in on a subscription with you is really a way to stick it to Disney. You can have seven profiles in the account and not one, not two, but FOUR people can watch at a time. It’s pretty awesome and also totally worth it because it’s $6.99 a month, so get seven friends and you’re golden.

And how could I forget the original content that is available. The most talked about is The Mandalorian which I personally have not watched, but I’ve seen a bunch of memes about it so that’s something. So go knock yourself out with watching all of the available content from your childhood and finally feel true happiness again.

It’s honestly, in my opinion, a fantastic stress-reliever. So go ahead and dive back into your childhood.
