PA boys basketball wins regional playoff game after 21 years

The boys basketball team won its regional quarterfinal game Wednesday with a thrilling 51-47 victory over last year’s state champion Maury High School. The Cavaliers will face Green Run in the semifinal round tonight at 8 at Scope.

The Cavs had not won a regional playoff game since 1999.

The team’s regular season record was 15-6, and ranked highly among Tidewater Class 5 teams.

Senior Kanye Clary was the lead scorer with 22 points, five rebounds, and six assists.

Senior Zai Roberts also had a strong game with 16 points, and 12 rebounds for the Cavaliers.
